Frequently Asked Questions

How long does the design process take (renovation)?

Once we have obtained a signed client agreement and design retainer, we book a site visit to meet with the trades and take all necessary photos and measurements. Following the initial site-visit, it’s typically a two-week process to create floor plan drawings.

After the drawings and budget have been approved, we move into the schematic design phase which usually takes 6-8 weeks before we share our ideas with our clients.  The next steps and timeline, largely depends on the scope of work.

We need help with furniture, window treatments and art for several rooms in our house?

We can absolutely help!    Furniture, art and decor is our favourite part of the final design process.    We can work with you to pull together a beautiful decorating plan including: furniture, art, lighting, window treatments and decor.    Our team will purchase, coordinate delivery and style your home to perfection.

Does WHD provide the contractor?

We can certainly recommend contractors for your project, however,  we ask that client's specify their own builder or contractor.

I am thinking about a renovation, when should I reach out?

Depending on the project and scope of work - ideally, clients should connect with designers 12 months prior to starting a new build and large-scale renovation.
